Sunset Boat — Dubrovnik by Sea
The city walls, the old harbour and the Adriatic at golden hour
The most famous view of Dubrovnik is from the Srđ hill or the city walls. Both are good. But the view from the water — looking back at the walls rising directly from the sea, lit by late afternoon sun — is different. It is the view the Ragusans saw when they returned from sea, and it is the one most visitors never get.
The sunset boat departs from the old harbour or Gruž in the late afternoon, sails around the south side of the old town past the city walls, into the sea cave at Betina, and out to Lokrum island for a swimming stop. The return is timed for the last light — the point when the limestone walls go warm gold and the sky behind them turns everything else into silhouette.
Boat size and pricing varies. A small speedboat for 4–6 people has a different character than a larger vessel for a group of 10. Both work; they are different experiences. Contact us with your group size and we will match you with the right option and give you an exact price.
Questions about this tour
What time does the sunset tour depart?+
Departure time depends on the season — we time it so you are on the water for the best light and back before dark. In summer this is typically around 18:00–19:00.
Can we bring drinks on the boat?+
Yes — you are welcome to bring your own wine, beer or soft drinks. We can also arrange drinks on board if you let us know in advance.
How many people can join?+
We work with boats of different sizes. Small speedboats take 4–8 passengers; larger boats take up to 12. Pricing varies by vessel — tell us your group size and we will give you an exact quote.
What if the weather is bad?+
We monitor conditions daily. If wind or sea state makes the tour uncomfortable or unsafe, we will reschedule or offer a full refund. The Adriatic is generally calm in the evening, but we do not take risks.
